Bolton Council has secured fines against three residents for dumping waste illegally in the back streets of the borough.
Agil Ayad Omar Aboukhdir pleased guilty to dumping a mattress in the back streets and received a fine of £70, victim surcharge of £30 and contribution towards costs of £200.
Edit Joni also pleaded guilty to placing a bag of waste and some scrap metal at the rear of her property and received a fine of £60, victim surcharge of £30 and contribution towards costs of £200.
Slavomir Hovarth also dumped a bag of waste at the rear of her property and was fined in her absence £220, victim surcharge of £30 and costs of £276.
Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Environmental Services, Councillor Nick Peel, said: “Flytipping is antisocial and shows a complete disregard for local people.
This is an excellent outcome, both for the Council and local residents, whose neighbourhoods are blighted by the actions of an irresponsible minority. Pursuing prosecutions like these demonstrates the Council’s continued commitment to deal with those who commit enviro-crime.
“I would encourage all residents to report flytips to the council and any other information that will help us identify the culprits.”
