If you’re having trouble fitting all your rubbish into the grey bin, you can request a waste audit.

To do this you must be using all the recycling facilities available to you and fit the following criteria:

  • there must be six or more people living in your house
  • there must be three or more people in nappies living in your house
  • one or more people living in your household has a medical condition that results in the production of extra waste (non-clinical)

Any request for a waste audit will result in a visit to your property from a recycling officer.  If you are recycling everything correctly and additional capacity is approved, there will be a £34 charge for the admin and delivery of the grey bin.

Following the introduction of 4 weekly beige bin collections (after 15 July), if you feel there is not enough space your beige bin, you can call 01204 336632 to request a waste audit. The waste audit, completed by an experienced recycling officer, will establish if space in the existing beige bin is being maximised and all materials are recycled correctly. A recycling officer will subsequently confirm whether a second beige bin can be approved. If approved, it will be subject to an administration and delivery fee of £12.
