Building a better future for Bolton

In December 2024, the Tackling Poverty Strategy 2024-27 was launched.

This outlines the key priorities and actions that we will focus on to address poverty in Bolton. It is designed to work alongside other local strategies, plans and programmes of work to ensuring a comprehensive approach to supporting those in need.

Alongside the strategy is an action plan that offers a detailed overview of the broad range of efforts carried out by the council and its partners. The action plan will be reviewed and developed annually to ensure it addresses the community’s evolving needs. We have also highlighted some of the amazing work that takes place in Bolton.

A team of key stakeholders collaborated to develop the strategy. Now that it's live, a delivery group is working together as a partnership to achieve its aims and objectives.

The Money Advice Referral Tool has been developed in response to consultation feedback that suggests that residents can find it a struggle to find services that are available to support them. The promotion and development of this tool is one of our key actions to take forward, ensuring our residents benefit from this signposting aid.

If residents or someone you are supporting/working with are experiencing financial hardships, then please visit our help with money problems or cost of living webpages for more details on the support that is available.
