Cervical cancer screening

Who is eligible?

• Women aged 25 to 49 every 3 years.

• Women aged 50 to 64 every 5 years

• Everyone with a cervix should go for cervical screening

How?

•  A small swab of cells will be taken from your cervix. The cervix is the opening to your womb from your vagina

• The sample is checked for high-risk HPV that can cause changes to the cells of your cervix.

• If the high-risk type of HPV is not found you do not need any further tests
