Councillor David Greenhalgh, the Leader of Bolton Council has expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the attacks in France.

“I am extremely saddened to hear of the news of today’s knife attack in Nice and of a gunman in Avignon, and the recent attack in Paris," said Cllr Greenhalgh.

"My thoughts and condolences and that of my colleagues and the council are with the families during this sad time. At this moment, when the world is suffering under the pandemic I am horrified to hear about what has happened. Those who perpetrate these atrocities with their criminal, murderous acts seek to divide us but as a community of all faiths and none we must stand together as one against extremism of all kinds, and pray for those who have suffered.”
