As ASB Awareness Week launches today, Bolton Council once again makes its commitment by collaborating with partners to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) across the town.
ASB Awareness Week aims to raise awareness of ASB and its impact on communities, with the theme Making Communities Safer.
Through resource sharing, strategic planning and co-ordinated responses, the partnership are aiming to deliver on the key priority of capturing the voice of the child.
By engaging with young people through focus groups, interactive sessions and questionnaires, the council and partners want to gather insights to inform their strategies and interventions.
Understanding young people’s perceptions and experiences and identifying common concerns will help shape strategies to address and prevent ASB, ensuring they feel informed, supported and empowered.
A full programme of events throughout the week aims to raise awareness, educate the community and build positive relationships between young people, community members and partner agencies.
Addressing anti-social behaviour, strengthening community bonds and working collaboratively creates a safer, more supportive environment for everyone.
Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Stronger Communities, Cllr Rabiya Jiva, said:
“Although ASB is not always committed by young people, they are the future of the town and it is crucial that we work with them for a better tomorrow.
“I hope that by listening to what they have to say and acting on their experiences, we can create the right support at the right time in the right place.
“Alongside continued partnership working, the council is working hard to make Bolton a safer place for residents and visitors alike.”
