Sue Johnson, Chief Executive of Bolton Council, has paid tribute to Sir Howard Bernstein, who has passed away.
“On behalf of the people of Bolton, and staff at the Council, I wanted to pay tribute to Sir Howard Bernstein who has sadly passed away.
“He was a remarkable figurehead for the region and leaves a lasting legacy for both Manchester and Bolton.
“We have seen the benefits from the series of historic devolution agreements, which he was integral in delivering, and transformed how the people of Bolton live and work today.
“Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.”
