A scheme to repair the surface of a major road in Bromley Cross will take place over two Sundays.
‘Patching’ work will be carried out on Darwen Road from its junction with Blackburn Road to Rose Hill Drive on September 24 and October 1.
Patching involves removing and replacing areas of road surface which have disintegrated or deteriorated.
Sections of Darwen Road will close when work is taking place and diversions will be signposted.
Access to residents and businesses will be maintained where possible but may be restricted at times. The work is subject to weather conditions.
Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Highways, Cllr David Chadwick, said: “We understand that this is going to cause disruption but this work is really needed to improve the condition of this road.
“The road will remain open except for the parts that are being worked on but this is still likely to cause some congestion.
“We have timed the work to take place on Sundays as we appreciate the impact it will have on the community.
“We would really like to thank motorists, businesses and residents for their patience while work is underway.”
