A new online resource offers children, families, and providers the latest information relating to special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Bolton SEND Local Offer is an information hub detailing SEND processes, pathways, services and provision available across education, health and social care.
The site gives up-to-date information about the support available and is clear, comprehensive and accessible.
Developed based on feedback from families, the Local Offer is also a place where service users can share their views and help shape the future of Bolton’s SEND provision.
Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, Cllr Anne Galloway, said:
The site is a comprehensive source of reliable information and shows the wide range of services and support available for young people with SEND.
"This is just the starting point, we want the Local Offer to become a space where children and their families can share their experiences of what works and what areas need improving.
This feedback will help make sure the council is commissioning appropriate services that meet local need.
We are committed to working with service users and providers to deliver the best possible outcomes.”
Residents without digital access can use their local library to access the SEND Local Offer website.
The council is currently seeking views on childcare for children with SEND and whether current provision in the borough meets local demand.
