The Boundary Commission for England has published proposals for changes to Bolton’s ward boundaries and is keen to know what you think.

It has proposed that Bolton’s 60 councillors and 20 wards remain with three councillors per ward.

But all the ward boundaries will change to ensure that councillors represent the same number of electors (residents) and reflect community identities.

The independent commission has launched a 10-week consultation which will run until 11 October 2021.

Bolton residents can see what their new constituencies will look like and give the commission their views on the interactive consultation portal.

The proposed changes include:

  • Moving the boundary between Kearsley and Farnworth
  • Creating two Farnworth wards, Farnworth North and Farnworth South.
  • Including Bradshaw Brow and Bradshaw Cricket Club in the proposed Bradshaw & Bromley Cross ward.

Bolton’s Deputy Chief Executive, Sue Johnson, said:

“It is important that people make their voice heard and have a say on proposed changes.

“The commission will consider all comments and it’s easy to feedback”.

"You can go to the interactive consultation portal, email or wite to them.”
