Latest news from Bolton Council including updates on our response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Remembering those who have suffered

The Leader of Bolton Council, Cllr David Greenhalgh, reflects upon the past year of the pandemic and the effect upon local people.

As the anniversary of the first lockdown announcement approaches, we remember all those who have passed away, have suffered, and are still suffering from coronavirus (COVID-19).

During this time of reflection about the past year there are several opportunities for us all to share memories of loved ones we have lost or are still suffering, share our thoughts about recovering from the virus, and our hopes for the future.

Residents are invited to join us in remembrance of lives lost by lighting a candle on March 23.

As national lockdown restrictions are eased of the coming weeks, business leaders and key GM organisations have joined forces to highlight the financial, practical and emotional support available to minimise workers’ worries around any difficulties of self-isolating.

The Growth Company Business Growth Hub is encouraging GM businesses to #DoYourBit and support workers who need to self-isolate.
