When will your claim start?
Your benefit will usually start from the Monday after we get your claim form.
Your claim can only be backdated for 1 month if you can give a good reason why you didn’t apply earlier.
Most non-critical services will be closed from 4pm on Wednesday 31 December 2025 and will reopen at 9am on Friday 2 January 2026
