Stay connected with Bolton Library and Museum Services and have your books delivered to your home for free.

The Home Library Service is for Bolton residents who are vulnerable or shielding due to Covid-19 or would usually be unable to visit the library due to health or mobility issues.

When customers join, they will be asked to give an idea of what they like to read, and staff will choose books to match their preferences.

Ordinary print, large print and talking books can all be borrowed or requested. Home Library staff will deliver up to six items and customers can keep them for two weeks.

Bolton Council’s Deputy Leader, Cllr Martyn Cox, said:

“Reading can help us relax, improve our mood and provide a welcome distraction at this difficult time.

“Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will select reading material to suit your needs and interests.

“The library buildings may be closed, but that doesn’t mean you can’t access a wide range of excellent resources either through home delivery or online.”

Customers who would like to join or find out more about the deliver service can call Ask Bolton Libraries on 01204 332853.

Existing customers will be contacted next week to start organising deliveries again.

Log on to the library service website to access a range of free eBooks, eAudio books and eMagazines.

There are also themed online activities to help with home-schooling, learning new skills and expanding your knowledge.
