Visitors to Bolton town centre will get an early Christmas present this year with free parking after 3pm on weekdays during the festive season.
From Thursday, November 22, thousands of spaces at the Octagon, Deane Road and Topp Way NCP multi-storey car parks will be available free of charge after 3pm.
The first day of the offer coincides with Bolton’s Christmas Lights Switch-on when Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs in the popular ITV soap, will light up the town centre.
The event is the first in a series of yuletide activities taking place in the run-up to Christmas.
Deputy Leader of Bolton Council, Cllr Ebrahim Adia, said:
“Christmas is one of the most important times of year for our town centre traders and we are hoping free parking will prove popular with both residents and businesses.
“Whether shopping for gifts or attending one of our many festive-themed events, we are committed to making it as easy and affordable as possible for those visiting Bolon centre this Christmas.”
The multi-story car parks are free at weekends and bank holidays all year round.
