Leverhulme Park’s spectacular firework display and community funfair will return this year on Friday, November 2.
The funfair will open at 6pm offering a wide variety of exciting rides while visitors will also be able to enjoy traditional favourites such as black peas, toffee apples and candy-floss.
Presenters from Tower FM will entertain the crowds until 8pm when a free community firework display will fill the night sky with dazzling colour, complete with dramatic musical accompaniment.
The event has been organised by Bolton Council in association with Tower FM and Operation Treacle, a multi-agency initiative to promote safety around Halloween and Bonfire Night.
There is very limited parking close to site and visitors are encouraged to travel by public transport where possible.
Stewards will be present throughout the event, providing visitors with a safe environment to enjoy the display.
To ensure everyone’s safety, people are asked only to attend an official firework display such as this one and not to bring their own fireworks or sparklers to the event.
A free bus to and from the event will be available for 13 to 19-year-olds.
Buses will leave Stand G at Bolton Interchange every 15 minutes from 6pm to 7.15pm and will drop passengers off on Bury Road.
Return journeys to Stand A at the Bolton Interchange will start at 9pm from Bury Road.
Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Culture and Sport, Cllr John Byrne, said:
“This is a fantastic opportunity for families and young people to enjoy Bonfire Night in a safe and responsible environment.
“It is always a popular event and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone to Leverhulme Park to enjoy what will be a spectacular and entertaining firework display.”
