A day of enforcement action is targeting illegal, unsafe and nuisance behaviour in Bolton town centre today.
Bolton Council has joined forces with Greater Manchester Police, the fire service and other partners to challenge businesses and individuals who are flouting laws and regulations.
Dozens of officers are taking part in the day of action, aiming to clamp down on littering and anti-social behaviour as well as ensuring business are complying with licensing, food hygiene and trading standards regulations.
As part of the initiative, the council’s neighbourhood services team have been out since 7am clearing away litter and cleaning the down centre.
Executive Cabinet Member for Environmental Services, Councillor Nick Peel, said: “We are working hard to create a town centre that is safe, clean and vibrant.
“That is why we are working closely with our partners in the police, fire service and other agencies to target the small minority who choose to ignore the rules.
“The last day of action was a great success and this enforcement underlines our commitment to making the town centre a better place to visit and shop.”
