The council and its partners would like to hear from people who have experience of autism so as to be able to improve services.

They are holding listening events this week where people can come forward to share their views. They take place on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 September at Commerce House, 59 Bridgeman Place, Bolton BL2 1DW.

People can book a time to come in, or just drop in between 9.30am and 4pm on these days. Drinks and biscuits provided.

The council is working with the health service (Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group), autism support groups, and families who support people with autism to develop a strategy to support people.

The strategy will set out what work will be done and how money will be spent to help people. It will be for all ages (toddler to old age), and will last for three years.

"The best people to tell us what people autism in Bolton need are those with direct experience," said Councillor Debbie Newall, Executive Cabinet Member for Adults.

"Come along to our listening events to tell us your views. We need your help to design services for the future."
