A Bolton resident who persistently dumped rubbish at the back of her house has been fined and ordered to carry out 100 hours unpaid work.

Renata Lakatosova of Woodfield Street, Bolton, was first fined for flytipping in 2016 and again in 2018.

Environmental enforcement officers continued to investigate Ms Lakatosova between October 2023 and May 2024 and recorded eight large fly tip offences in this period, most of which were caught on CCTV.

These fly tips were located at the rear and side of the house and included bin bags full of rubbish and significant quantities of cardboard, as well large household items such as a child’s buggy.

On Thursday last week (March 6) she appeared before Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court and pleaded guilty to flytipping offences.

Ms Lakatosova was handed a 12-month community order with 100 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay £250 costs and £114 victim surcharge.

Cllr Richard Silvester, Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Environmental Services, said:

“The fact that there is a no flytipping sign next to the area this resident dumped the waste shows a complete disregard for the law and community she lives within.

“There really is no excuse for flytipping and anyone caught doing so will find themselves with a fine or even in court and served with a community order.”
