Bolton’s Local Plan shapes how we will use land to accommodate the future needs for housing, employment, infrastructure, and protected greenspaces in the future.
Landowners, developers and residents are asked to say what sites should, or should not be used, for development, as this will influence our long-term planning and policy developments.
This supports the Greater Manchester Places for Everyone Joint Development Plan
So please view Bolton’s Local Plan Call for Sites Map with areas marked for Green Belt and Existing Housing and Employment Allocations and Permissions, and have your say by completing the questionnaire here.
The questionnaire is currently live but closes on Monday 15 April.
Bolton Council’s Deputy Leader, Cllr Akhtar Zaman, said:
“Reviewing our Local Plan makes sure our planning policies more accurately represent the needs of Bolton residents.
“Keeping an up-to-date record of available land for various types of development is crucial for the future of our communities.
“It is important we balance the future needs of residents for new housing, employment, health, and leisure with the responsibility of preserving what makes Bolton special.”
