Bolton Council is offering smokers a new free and effective way to kick the habit with Allen Carr’s Easyway method.

Allen carr boltonThe pilot uses a mix of a one-day seminar, online or in-person, and follow up support helping millions of people break free of cigarette addiction.

Quitting smoking is a challenge, but there's no need to go it alone – smokers are three times more likely to succeed in quitting with specialist help.

The approach is drug-free and instead aims to change the way smokers think and feel about cigarettes with a success rate of over 50% at Allen Carr’s Easyway Centres, even after 12 months.

Smoking remains the biggest cause of ill-health and death in the UK and increases the risk of developing serious health conditions.

This pilot is part of Smokefree Bolton aiming to help more people quit smoking, creating a positive movement for local people and communities to become healthier, happier, and financially better off.

Smokefree Bolton supports local smokers, aged 12 years and over, with free personalised support and nicotine replacement therapies to quit the habit for good.

Cllr Jackie Schofield, Bolton Council's Executive Member for Health and Wellbeing, said:

“This pilot is an exciting opportunity to trial an innovative and clinically proven intervention programme in Bolton.

“I would urge all smokers in Bolton to book a slot on the programme and give it a go.

“I want people to know that it’s never too late to stop and that this free support from our friendly expert teams can really boost your chances of quitting for good.”
