Bolton residents are being urged to take advantage of a government funded scheme to make their homes warmer, more efficient, and cheaper to heat.
Feel the Benefit is a joint initiative from Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Bolton Council, NHS Greater Manchester, and Next Energy.
Under the scheme, residents who meet certain criteria will be able to take advantage of free or discounted upgrades like better insulation, modern windows, and more efficient heating.
Letters about Feel the Benefit have already been sent to homes which may be eligible for assistance based on their energy rating.
Homeowners are also encouraged to find out more by calling 01204 216 656 or using the online eligibility checker.
Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Climate Change and Environmental Services, Cllr Richard Silvester, said:
“The energy we use in our homes also contributes to Bolton’s overall carbon emissions, so making improvements will help towards our goal of making the borough cleaner and greener.
“It also brings energy costs down, makes our homes more comfortable, and will help tackle certain health problems associated with living in a cold or damp house.
“Anyone who has already received a letter endorsed by me about Feel the Benefit can be confident that this scheme has the 100% backing of Bolton Council and I would urge them to find out more.”
More information about Feel the Benefit is available on the GMCA website.
