The record-breaking 18th edition of the Bolton Food and Drink Festival has won another major award, adding to the event’s reputation as one of the best of its kind in the UK.
The festival was today (Jan 25) named “Best Market Attraction” at the Great British Market Awards 2024.
The 2023 festival was the biggest and best yet with 500,000 visitors flocking to Bolton across the August Bank Holiday weekend.
The crowds enjoyed 180 artisan stalls, celebrity chef demonstrations, free family entertainment, live music and much more.
The Great British Market Awards are organised by the National Association of British Market Authorities (NABMA).
This latest accolade comes just weeks after the festival was also declared the “Most Loved Live Event” at the 2023 I Love Manchester awards.
The previous year’s festival was named “Leading Live Event” at the This is Manchester Awards 2022.
Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Culture, Cllr Nadeem Ayub, said:
“It is no coincidence that Bolton Food and Drink Festival continues to win prestigious awards, even when up against some of the biggest events the UK has to offer.
“The team at Bolton Market do an outstanding job supporting our 180 festival stall holders, and it is easy to see why so many traders come back year after year.
“2023 was a landmark year for the festival, but I am already looking forward to this year’s event which I am sure will be even better.”
Bolton Food and Drink Festival is only possible with the support of sponsors and partners.
