Bolton Central Library at Le Mans Crescent is temporarily moving to Crompton Place whilst the £3 million upgrade takes place.
The last day at Le Mans Crescent will be Saturday September 10.
The library and history centre will be closed for two weeks and reopen at the former New Look unit in Crompton Place on Monday September 26. A welcome coffee morning will take place between 10am – 12noon.
The opening hours will be:
Monday: 9am - 5.30pm
Tuesday: 9am - 5.30pm
Wednesday: 9.30am - 5.30pm
Thursday: 9am - 5.30pm
Friday: 9am -5.30pm
Saturday: 9am - 5pm
Sunday: 10am - 4pm
During the closure period the museum and aquarium will be open as normal and books can be returned to the entrance.
When the history centre opens at Crompton Place, access to online resources will be available as normal however all local studies reference material will be available by request with four days’ notice required.
The £3 million investment will include a full refurbishment as well as an upgrade of the children's area, improved social spaces and update to the digital facilities in the main area with the addition of a mezzanine floor.
The project will take just over 12 months to complete.
