Bolton’s town centre Christmas celebrations continue as the Festive Bar opens its doors.

The Festive Bar will be open for 12 days across the yuletide period from today, right through to Christmas Eve.

All of this year’s Christmas activities have been designed to be COVID secure.

The Festive Bar is a large, well-ventilated, space with socially distanced seating, hand sanitiser and stewards on hand to keep everyone safe.

Anyone attending a Christmas event this year is asked to take a rapid home COVID test before visiting the town centre.

The large heated and covered bar venue will be a wonderful addition to this year’s attractions, set in the heart of Bolton town centre in Victoria Square.

You can sit, chat and relax, whilst enjoying a range of seasonal hot or cold drinks whilst listening to some of Bolton’s finest musical talent.

The adjacent performance space will showcase a wealth of acts from across the borough, featuring musical artists and school choirs.

You can also sample some amazing festive foods as you soak up the seasonal ambience.

But Bolton’s Christmas celebrations are just getting started.

Get ready to indulge in some retail therapy and take a stroll through the traditional Christmas market, which opens for four days from December 16-19.

Almost 60 stalls will be selling arts, crafts and gifts with further stalls selling seasonal food and drink.

On Saturday, December 18 a spectacular light show will see a specially commissioned ‘Winter Owls’ display projected onto the town hall.

This year’s Christmas events are supported by the council’s partners The Bolton Gin Company, Robertson Facilities Management, Bolton Arena, StepPlaces, The Octagon Theatre, The University of Bolton, Bolton School and Bolton’s Community Champions.

Paul Welch, Managing Director of The Bolton Gin Company said:

“The Bolton Gin Company are proud to partner with Bolton Council to showcase the very best Bolton has to offer this Christmas.

“We can't wait to share our flavours with everyone visiting the Christmas Markets.”

Rob Holt, Group Director of Robertson Facilities commented:

“As part of our long-term commitment to Bolton Council and the wider communities, Clear Futures are delighted to have been asked to be part of the Bolton Christmas Festival this year.

“This event, like the Bolton Food Festival and the Ironman competition, not only showcases Bolton on the UK stage but brings together people from across Bolton and the Northwest for what will be a fantastic event in the run up to Christmas.”
