Music will be on the menu in Bolton town centre this August Bank Holiday Weekend.

This year’s Bolton Food and Drink Festival, supported by headline sponsors Aldi, will feature an incredible 88 free performances across two town centre stages.

The music spans folk, rock, pop, indie and reggae, with the live music stages giving a platform to many young performers and groups.

Accomplished talent will share the spotlight with raw, up-and-coming musicians on the two stages.

The main Festival Music stage is on Le Mans Crescent, and Victoria Square will host the acoustic stage.

Plenty of seating and refreshments will be available in both bar areas.

Headliners on the main Festival Stage are:

Friday 27th 9pm - The Jade Assembly – charismatic Britpop guitar band from Bolton, influenced by the Who, the Stones and Oasis.

Saturday 28th 9pm - The Lancashire Hotpots – much-loved comedy folk band from St. Helens, a fixture on the festival circuit with their classics such as ‘EBay Eck’ and ‘Chippy Tea’.

Sunday 29th 9pm - The Lottery Winners – there’s a real buzz about this four-piece Indie band from Leigh whose music, they say, is influenced by the sunshine that shines only from Lancashire and who have a new album Something to Leave the House For.

Monday 30th 5pm - Jeremiah Ferrari - alternative reggae band with powerful punk and indie influences, they will be closing the festival in fine style.

The Real Ale Stage is where the acoustic performers line up over the weekend, including the Buskers’ Ball on Sunday 29th which features 20 acts.

There are also jazz concerts over the weekend from Live From Worktown, which is presenting music at venues across town including the Olympus Chippy.

And the Bolton Mela is a fringe event managed by Bolton Community Railway and the Hindu Forum to offer food and music on the platform at Bolton Train Station.

Visit the Bolton Food and Drink Festival website for the full line-ups across all stages.
