Local Energy Advice Demonstrator
Making energy saving changes to your home can help make your home warmer and reduce your energy bills, as well as helping make Greater Manchester a greener, fairer place to live.
Heating your home has the largest negative impact on the environment, with heating of homes and other buildings accounting for around 37% of the United Kingdom’s carbon emissions.
To mitigate the impact of climate change we all need to improve the efficiency of our homes, and there are many ways to do this, including:
- improving loft and wall insulation,
- installing better windows and low carbon heating technologies
- making other improvements to the fabric of our homes.
To help you make the change, Bolton Council and Greater Manchester Combined Authority with partners are offering free, tailored advice to help residents right across the city-region understand what improvements they could make to their homes. This includes identifying where a resident might be eligible for free or discounted home upgrades based on their circumstances.
Anyone living in Greater Manchester can check their eligibility now by visiting the Greater Manchester Energy Scheme Checker: https://gmca.retrofitportal.org.uk/home.
