Bolton Employability
Bolton Employability is a partnership between business and education. The goal is to provide three on-site work placements for young people with disabilities leading to competitive employment.
Work placements and support
- Host business - Bolton Council
Provides a variety of placements that teach core skills of the business and a liaison officer to coordinate the program. - Education - Firwood High School
Provides a teacher, two teaching assistants and recruits appropriate student participants. The teacher drives the curriculum to support the student during their placements.
Firwood High School also provide an employment advisor to support individuals with work placements, job coaching, performing job analysis, travel training, expertise in adaptions, accommodations and implement as necessary. Our job coaches provide on-going support once a placement has been found.
