- Our context - The Gates Primary School opened in 2002, an amalgamation of 2 schools (one faith and one non-denominational). It is a larger than average school of 263 on roll plus a 26 place nursery. School numbers have increased rapidly following a rise from one form entry to one and a half in September 2008 due to increased building locally, birth rate and popularity of the school. 2 major phases of building work completed in June 2010 provide an additional 4 classrooms to house our increased numbers as well as an extended hall and refurbished offices, community room and staff room. Improved facilities also include a computer suite/library and outdoor equipment. The school moved to a 2 year curriculum cycle in September 2010. Further information. The school is over subscribed in Reception and full or almost full in all other year groups.
