Description

Have your say on admission arrangements for Bolton primary and secondary schools for the academic year September 2026 to August 2027

By law, admission authorities, like Bolton Council, are required to consult on their school admission arrangements, either once every 7 years (if no changes are made) or whenever they are proposing a change to their admission arrangements.

Bolton Council are now asking parents, guardians and stakeholders to feedback on the admission arrangements of children going into reception and secondary schools in 2026-27 or for those children moving school during the school year 2025-26.

We would like feedback on:

1)           Proposals to reduce the admission number at Mytham Primary School, Little Lever

The local authority is proposing to reduce the admission number from 50 places to 30 places from the reception intake in 2026 onwards.  This will not affect pupils who already have a place at the school.

2)           The local authority is consulting on the admission arrangement for community and voluntary controlled schools

The local authority is consulting on admission arrangements for 2026-27 for community and voluntary controlled schools.  There are no changes to the oversubscription criteria but some of the notes have been updated.

2)           The local authority is consulting on the co-ordinated scheme for admissions

The co-ordinated scheme has been reorganised to improve clarity overall, and to update the section on in year admissions (part 2 of the scheme)
