PHV in Bus Lane/Gate - Taxi trade updates

We have been asked to share the below in relation to traffic regulations in Bolton.

Please can you ensure that all drivers are aware that private hire vehicles (PHV) cannot enter bus lanes or bus gates in Bolton. The Parking Services team have noted that numerous PHV’s have been captured entering bus lanes, with several appeals being received from PH drivers who believe they were allowed to enter the bus lane or bus gate.

Please also note that the bus gate on Deansgate is due to go live imminently and is enforceable at all times (24 hours Monday - Sunday), a survey conducted recently showed that over 600 vehicles, much of them suspected to be PHV, were witnessed contravening the bus gate in a single day.
