General Practitioner.
After qualifying as a doctor in Dublin he took a House Doctor post at Dewsbury Hospital, Yorkshire, where he met his future wife.
He later became a GP in Moss Side, Manchester before settling to practice in Horwich in September 1933.
Represented Central Ward 1950-53 and 1954-66.
He was a member of the Rotary Club and was Chairman of the Ulster Society, Manchester at the time of his death.
Three of his sons also became doctors.
