Description

Have your say on Advocacy services in Bolton

Advocacy is a statutory duty of Councils under the Care Act 2014.  Bolton Council are presently undertaking a review of the current advocacy structure and would welcome your comments on what impacts the proposed adaptations will have on you, a family member, or the organisation you represent.

The advocacy services are integral pieces to providing support within the local community for those who have health and social care needs (comprising with learning difficulties, mental health problems, physical and sensory, autistic spectrum conditions and older people).  At present, Bolton Council operates two separate advocacy programmes, one for adults and another for children.

It is now recommended that the two services are brought together to produce one comprehensive service which will cover everyone.  Implementing this new structure will provide one pathway and referral route into advocacy, making the navigation of services easier for both professionals and service users.  Furthermore, streamlining these services will help to create a more efficient and effective service for the residents of Bolton.

Bolton Council now invite service users, families and carers, voluntary groups, health and social care providers, care homes and staff to make comments.
