Big Bold Bolton Art Exhibition
An exhibition of over a thousand pieces of artwork (celebrating the heritage of Bolton including buildings and landmarks past and present) and the people of Bolton. Open Thursdays and Saturdays 1-5pm
The exhibition includes work from Chorley New Road Primary Academy, St Mary’s RC Primary, Horwich Parish CE Primary, Blackrod Primary, St Catherine’s CE Primary and Claypool Primary schools. This is the biggest single display of children’s art at one time. There are sketches of street scenes, textiles inspired by home, sculptures and art inspired by local food, sculptures and busts of familiar Bolton people. The idea for the exhibition was to bring schools together and give children (from 5 years to 11 years) across the cluster the opportunity to be involved in a special project that celebrates their ideas and art and showcases their own individual art and design techniques whilst celebrating belonging and being part of Bolton community.
