Second Screening of Franz Kafka's 'Before the Law'

By popular demand, this is a free second screening of Franz Kafka's 'Before the Law' to celebrate the centenary of his death, as well as Bolton's status as Greater Manchester's Town of Culture 2024.
Shot entirely in Bolton and Rivington throughout 2024, this compelling short film adaptation of Franz Kafka's classic parable 'Before the Law' by Bolton-based writer/director Brett Gregory is not to be missed. In the main the film asks who are we as people and why, tragically, do most of us wait for permission to live our lives? Permission we often will never receive. This film forms a part of a proposed four film gothic anthology to be produced in Bolton called 'Only Fear: Northern Tales of the Unknown and the Uncanny'. Audience discussion following the first screening was very lively and covered topics such as filmmaking, education, politics, and Bolton's history and cultural renaissance.
