What is an exclusion?
An exclusion is when a child does not follow the behaviour policy of the school and is then asked by the head teacher not to attend school.
Each school has a written behaviour policy, which sets out the boundaries of acceptable behaviour. Schools are entitled to expect the support of parents, and they will ask parents to be involved if their child is misbehaving. Exclusion from school on the grounds of poor behaviour is the most extreme form this can take.
You should be able request a copy of the policy from your childs school or download it from their website.
