Community Champions
Community Champions is a scheme set up in April 2021 to break down barriers and get information into communities. The Community Champions are a success as they can get into the heart of their area and share important information to support residents to live a healthier and happier life.
What is a Community Champion
Anybody can be a Community Champion! You don't need any fancy qualifications or even any experience at all. You just need to care about your local community and want to make a difference.
Community Champions are individuals who pledge to share positive, correct health & wellbeing messages and information with family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues and their community at their leisure.
There is no minimum commitment, and it is completely voluntary.
If you are passionate about helping people, have a can-do positive attitude and a willingness to get stuck in then you'd be perfect!
Types of Champions
All our champions are enrolled as a Civil’s Champions, but did you know we have various specialist roles? If you are interested in one or more of these roles, we can offer you FREE courses to support you further in the community.
Do I need any training
We advise that all Community Champions complete our induction training, which is approximately 3 hours. The induction covers basic Health and Safety, Code of Conduct, information on the various roles and how to support your community.
